We drove over night to from Chattanooga and arrived in the early hours. We didn’t get hotel rooms for this date. We were able to sleep on the bus and then go into the theatre to shower, we were parked right outside.
I woke up pretty early and took the opportunity to wander round the town. I went directly to a barbers and got myself a hot towel shave, something I had not done for a while. It was a great little shop and they recommended some good places to go and eat. I grabbed breakfast and had a walk.
The weather was much warmer than we had been experiencing before so it was a pleasure to be able to walk around in just a sweater without tons of layers. The trees which line the streets of Savannah are covered with Spanish Moss, the trees and the moss form almost endless canopies. For me it is the quintessential representation of a Southern town. It was my first time in Savannah and my first time in that part of the South but having seen many of the Southern cities and states in the movies I already had formed and idea of what it would look like and I was not disappointed.
