I had been looking forward to come to Athens ever since I saw it on the list of tour dates. The reason is that about a year ago I found an article on the BBC America website which listed the top 5 places in the United States to get proper, English style, meat pies. Meat pies are perhaps my most favouritest of all the foods so you can imagine my excitement.
I was not disappointed. Pouch Pies was fantastic. I got chatting with the owner, Dave, a lovely guy from Scotland, and he came to see the show that evening along with his daughter and they kindly brought us a bunch of pies to eat!! In total I ate 4 that day. It actually made me a little home sick!
The show that night was great! I managed to get through it despite having eaten so many pies that day!
