Once upon a time a group of friends sailed in to the port of Nassau in the Bahamas every week and every week they saw the same lonely lighthouse situated all on it’s own at the very end entrance of the harbour.  For years they came and went every week and saw that same lonely little lighthouse sitting there all on it’s own.

Who put it there? Does any one visit it? Does it even still work?  They never knew.

Then, one day, this group of friends decided to go and explore so Kristen, Ariel, Ronan and Dan set off wearing sturdy shoes and harbouring a sense of adventure.  Along the way they ran in to Misty, who happened to be out for a run that day so she tagged along.  Here are the photos from that day.  The day we had to find our way to the private beach in the Atlantis resort, hop over a few fences and run stealthily through a few very rich people’s backyards without getting caught.

The destination was well worth the relatively risky journey.  The lighthouse, although it is rundown and abandoned, seemed to be still working.  It was one of my most enduring memories and probably my favourite ever day from my time working aboard the Norwegian Epic and I am glad to have spent it with some other really wonderful people
