I can’t believe it took me so long to write about this! Anyway. Long story short. I ran 14km with the Western Earth Moving Team (where I work)…or rather, I ran 11km and stumbled/crawled/limped the last 3km after my knees cramped up. It was the furthest I had ever run and now I know why I had never done it before.
It took me two weeks to recover and the best thing was that the day after the race I had to go to work and move wheelbarrows full of concrete in the rain. Awesome!
Anyway, despite all the pain it was a brilliant day. My cousin Kevin did a fantastic job of organising the WEM team so big thanks to him.
I managed to cross the line in 1 hour and 36 minutes, a lot slower than I had hoped but at least I made it!
Ed and I put together a video of the day….here it is…
