I had been looking forward to going to Seattle for the entire tour. I spent time with some good friends out there last year and also I had Daisy and my Sister, Claire visiting. Claire came all the way from England to see me, needless to say I was super excited. I had not seen her since last October.
We didn’t waste any time and headed out to do some sightseeing. Of course we hit up the space needle and thanks to the incredible weather we could see the mountains all around us, something that is not that common! One of the highlights of the weekend was visiting the Dale Chihuly Garden and Glass exhibition. This guy can do incredible things with glass and the exhibits are beautifully curated and presented. We spent a couple of hours wandering around and got to see and demonstration of the gas blowing process.
I was excited to play the Paramount Theater. I had been there the year before to see a show and actually got to stand on the side of the stage and watch Modest Mouse perform. This time it was my turn to be on the stage looking out at that beautiful house. We sold really well the whole time we were there and i actually had a couple of the best shows I have had all tour. The audience was so much fun and so lively!!
We found time to make it up to see the Fremont Troll before the end of the weekend.
But the highlight of the whole time there must be the sea plane ride we took! I had never been on a sea plane before, although I had thought about it when I was in Alaska. It was a 7 seater plane but we lucked out and were the only 3 on it! Again, we were so lucky with the weather and had n uninterrupted view for miles and miles around right out the the Cascade and the Olympic Mountains. The flight lasted about 30 mins and we flew over the city and out over the Puget Sound. The views were breath taking. I think it is some of the best money I have every spent when travelling!
